Membership Categories

Please note that TxCIA has recently made changes to several of its membership categories in order to enhance the value of membership. These changes will be fully implemented beginning with the 2027 membership year, which starts on January 1, 2027.

Premier Membership

(Formerly Sponsoring Membership)

TxCIA’s Premier Membership level provides several unique benefits. Any entity eligible for Captive or Service Provider membership is eligible to join at the Premier level. Special membership benefits at the Premier level include:

  • One (1) complimentary annual conference registration
  • Premier member’s logo featured on the TxCIA website
  • Recognition in semi-annual email communications to the TxCIA membership
  • Recognition as a Premier Member on the run-of-show slide deck displayed at TxCIA’s Annual Conference
  • The opportunity to participate in quarterly meetings of TxCIA 's new Advisory Council

Premier members may designate one (1) individual to serve as the primary point of contact for the membership. This designated individual is eligible to vote on the member’s behalf and may submit their name for consideration for election to the Board of Directors. The Premier membership also allows the member to designate up to five (5) additional individuals who will receive association communications, have access to the members-only section of the website, and are eligible to serve on association committees. All six (6) designees are eligible for the member rate for the annual conference.

Dues: $2,750 U.S. per year

Service Provider Membership

(Formerly Associate Membership)

A Service Provider member is any person or firm engaged in the provision of products or services to captive insurance companies, including but not limited to law firms, accounting firms, financial advisory firms, investment banking firms, and captive management companies. Service Provider members may designate one (1) individual to serve as the primary point of contact for the membership. This designated individual is eligible to vote on the member’s behalf and may submit their name for consideration for election to the Board of Directors. Each Service Provider member may designate up to two (2) additional individuals who will receive full member communications and be eligible for the member rate for the annual conference.

Dues: $1,100 U.S. per year

Captive Membership

A Captive member is any entity that owns a licensed captive insurance company, or any licensed captive insurance company itself. Prospective captive owners may also join under this category. Captive members may designate one (1) individual to serve as the primary point of contact for the membership. This designated individual is eligible to vote on the member’s behalf and may submit their name for consideration for election to the Board of Directors. Each Captive member may designate up to two (2) additional individuals who will receive member communications and be eligible for the member rate for the annual conference.

Dues: $825 U.S. per year

Individual Membership

Individual membership is strictly limited to any individual who is self-employed, a retired industry professional, or an academic or researcher with a professional interest in captive insurance. Individual members may serve on committees but cannot serve on the board and do not have voting privileges. These members are eligible for the member rate for the annual conference.

Dues: $150 U.S. per year
